We are a quilt fabric shop located in beautiful northern Michigan.  We are about 1 hour south of Traverse City. Our store is located 3 miles south of the village of Bear Lake.  We are here because we love quilts and quilting! There is a wonderful thing that happens inside a person as quality, cotton quilting fabric is turned into your own special creation. Look around our site and be inspired by the patterns, books, notions and supplies that will help you create something that is uniquely "You".

Some little girl will feel very special in it! And for those of you who wonder - it's very easy to make! The Ellie & Elwood Elephant kit is a fun and easy project.

We have had quite the winter this year! Lots of snow and very cold temps. I'm always glad that we work with quilts this time of year! Thankfully, it looks like winter is just beginning to give way to spring. We've had a couple of days with lots of sunshine and temperatures that have barely peaked above freezing. One of our customer's said they will start putting out maple syrup buckets soon. That's exciting! That means the sap will soon start running in the trees!

We have been enjoying the arrival of new fabrics! We've gotten in a lot of new batiks. One beautiful collection is called Sumatra and is by Blank Quilting. We also got in a brand new collection called Cherry Baby by Holly Holderman for Lakehouse Dry Goods. What a wonderful collection that is! Holly added this neat little hint of metallic through out the prints in the most delicate way. One of my favorites is the pretty ginham checks that have a tiny dot of metallic in the center of each check. So cute! Look for a new kit from this collection soon!

Simpliciy is the newest collection by 3 Sisters for Moda.  We are so excited about it! It is wonderfully cool and refreshing.  We can hardly stop ourselves from making one quilt after another with this collection.  A couple of new kits made with Simplicity will be added to our website soon.  Take a look - and hurry up and get yours...  The fabric won't be around long!

It's always so exciting to open a big box full of bolts of fabric!  Sometimes, we forget just what we ordered and then we are in for a wonderful surprise. Almost always, the fabric is even better than we remember it! We've been expanding our line of basics. We've enjoyed adding a variety of Fusions by Robert Kaufman and several kinds of Marbles by Moda. The newest collection from 3 Sisters just arrived and is so beautiful we doubled our usual order quantities! Look for it on the website soon!

We wish we could make quilts or table runners or totes or something with every beautiful piece of fabric that comes through our shop!  I'm sure you all know the feeling! Even with three of us, we can't seem to make everything we want to!!!
